Centre of Excellence specifically to Space
As of 2019, Space is the 5th operational domain recognized by NATO, alongside Air, Sea, Land and Cyber. It was therefore logical to dedicate a Centre of Excellence specifically to Space, to have an entity capable of delivering expertise, advice and emerging concepts regarding Space for the benefit of the Alliance.
This was achieved with the accreditation of the NATO Space COE, obtained on 14th July 2023.

Now in its ramp-up phase, the NATO Space COE is already involved in supporting NATO on several major issues, including the integration of the space environment through the Multi Domain Operations concept, the writing of the space operations doctrine, or the support of major joint allied exercises.
With the arrival of its full work power and the delivery of its final building scheduled for 2025 in Toulouse, the NATO Space COE will reach its full operational capability and will be an invaluable tool for NATO in a field as demanding as difficult to master.
DISCOVER OUR ORGANIzATION
The activity is organized on four divisions
The Programme of Work (POW) is the document setting out the COE activities during a calendar year, including the long-term perspective. The POW is submitted to the Steering Committee for approval and executed along the four NATO-Accredited COE pillars.
The location
Located in Toulouse, France, at the heart of a valuable Space ecosystem, the NATO Space COE is able to take advantage of worldwide Space resources and expertise.
